Edward Charles Cumberbatch
Driver 65257 Royal Field Artillery
Edward was born in 1898 in West Bromwich, Staffordshire, England. He was the eldest son of Arthur Cumberbatch and his wife Mary nee Gorton.
Edward joined the Royal Field Artillery as Driver 65257 and arrived in France on 7th September 1915. After the war he was awarded the Victory, British War and the 194-15 Star medals for his service during World War One.
Edward married Elizabeth Amelia Bolton in 1921 and they had five children:
- Charles Arthur Baden Cumberbatch born 1921
- Walter Stanley Cumberbatch born 1922
- Marion A Cumberbatch born 1928 and died the same year
- Winifred M Cumberbatch born 1928 and died the same year
- Daughter Cumberbatch born 1930 and died the same year
Edward Charles Cumberbatch died aged 34 years in 1932.
