Gravestone is worn. Laid flat on the footpath to the left of the church by the tower. Recent rain helps darken the engraving.

1. There were two Frances Cumberbirch, one was baptised 19 May 1800 and the other 17 May 1801 both at Wilmslow, Cheshire and both daughters of Joseph & Sarah Cumberbirch.
2. Moses Snape married Sarah Cumberbirch 06 Sep 1815 at Wilmslow, Cheshire. Sarah Snape was buried 03 Jan 1825 aged 31 at Wilmslow, Cheshire.
3. Joseph Cumberbirch was buried 16 Nov 1832 aged 48 at Wilmslow, Cheshire.
4. Elizabeth Walker was buried 11 Jun 1835 aged 31 at Wilmslow, Cheshire.
5. Sarah Cumberbirch was buried 04 Feb 1838 aged 73 at Wilmslow, Cheshire.
6. Joseph Cumberbirch [0004250 & 1841114] was buried 06 Feb 1845 aged 87 at Wilmslow, Cheshire.
7. Thomas Cumberbirch was buried 11 Feb 1845 aged 34 at Wilmslow, Cheshire.
8. Aaron Hankinson married Ann Cumberbirch 06 Jun 1811 at Prestbury. Joseph Hankinson was buried 26 Oct 1834 aged 22 at Wilmslow, Cheshire.
9. Sarah Ann Hankinson was buried 17 Feb 1847 aged 29 at Wilmslow, Cheshire.

Know all Men by these Presents, That we James Cumberbirch of Wilmslow in the Co & Diocese of Chester, Farmer Isaac Goodier of Wilmslow aforesaid, Surveyer & Joseph Hulme of Wilmslow aforesaid Farmer are holden and firmly bound unto the Right Reverend Father in God John Bird by Divine Permission, Lord Bishop of Chester, in the Sum of Four hundred Pounds, of good and lawful Money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, current in that part of the said Kingdom called England, to he paid unto the said Lord Bishop, his lawful Attorney, Executors, Administrators, or Assigns, to which payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves and every of us severally for and in the whole, our Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, and the Heirs, Executors and Administrators, of every of us firmly by these Presents, Sealed with our Seals, and dated the sixth Day of December in the ninth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady Victoria by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland Queen Defender of the Faith, and in the Year of our Lord God One Thousand Eight Hundred and forty five [6th Dec 1845]
The Condition of this Obligation is such, That if James Cumberbirch above-bounden, the natural & lawful Brother, one of the next of kin, and as such ADMINISTRATOR of all and singular the goods, chattels, and credits of Thomas Cumberbirch late of Wilmslow aforesaid Sadler, a Bachelor, deceased, without Parent living at the time of his death do make, or cause to be made, a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods, chattels, and credits of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession, or knowledge of him the said James Cumberbirch or into the hands and possession of any other person or persons for his use do well and truly administer according to law, and further do make, or cause to be made, a true and just account of his said administration, at or before the sixth day of December which shall be in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred & forty six [6th Dec 1846] and all the rest and residue of the said goods, chattels, and credits, which shall be found remaining upon the said administrator’s account, the same being first examined and allowed of by the judge or judges for the time being of the said court, shall deliver and pay unto such person or persons respectively, as the said judge or judges, by his or their decree, or sentence, pursuant to the true intent and meaning of an Act of Parliament, made in the two-and twentieth and three-and twentieth years of the reign of His late Majesty King Charles the Second, entitled, An Act for the better settling Intestate estates, shall limit and appoint. And if it shall hereafter appear that any last will and testament was made by the said deceased, and the executor or executors therein named do exhibit the same into the said court, making request to have it allowed and approved accordingly, if the said James Cumberbirch above bounden, being thereunto required, do render and deliver the said letters of administration, (approbation of such testament being first had and made in the said court) then this obligation to be void and of none effect, or else to remain in full force and virtue.

The sixth day of December 1845 James Cumberbirch within named took the usual oath of an Admon’r in common form and also made oath that the Personal Estate & Effects of the Intestate, within the Diocese of Chester, were under the value of Two Hundred Pounds before me Wm Cruttenden AM Surrogate
The Intestate died the 8th day of February 1845
