Notes - He was known as "The Hero Lawlor" as he deserted the British Army. However, Pat Brennan recalls that he was called 'The Hero' whilst at school and before joining the British Army.
All who rembered him remarked that he was quite a 'character'. He was very friendly and a real joker.
Pat recalls him doing headstands on chairs at the dinner table! - In Loving memory of Isabella Lawlor Moneenroe Died 15th Sept 1975 aged 57 yrs also her Husband Daniel Hero Lawlor Died 25th Feb 1981 Aged 60 Yrs RIP Thy Will Be Done Erected by their Loving Family.
Moneenroe Church Graveyard, Moneenroe, Castlecomer, Kilkenny, Ireland [7] - I asume you mean Dan the "Hero" I really dont know about an army career it is possible that he may have spent some time in the British army but not sure there was some reason he was known as "Hero" He spent time in Scotland and his wife was from Scotland The Shotts outside Glasgow. There is a story here about her name. A neighbour Jack Meally used to stop her when he met her to ask her her name. Just to hear her say it Isabella Bruce Lawson Watson Young. lol. When Hero was going to marry her he sent a photo to his Mother of Rita Hayworth as the girl he was going to marry you can imagine her surprise when Eisa got off the bus lol. There are so many stories about Hero it is difficult to know what was the truth. All three of his Sons had Army careers in the Irish Army.
