Harry Dooley Cumberlidge 1888-1965
Private 19412 7 Battalion North Staffordshire Regiment
Harry Dooley Cumberlidge was born on 9 October 1888 in Tunstall in Staffordshire, England. He was he son of Samuel Henry Cumberlidge and his wife Ann nee Stonier. Harry's mother died very shortly after Harry was born, she was 39 years of age. By the 1911 census Harry had followed his father into the prolific local pottery trade.
Before going to war Harry married Minnie Hancock in 1914 at St James Church, Newchapel, Wolstanton, Staffordshire, England.
Harry joined the army and joined the 7th Battalion of the North Staffordshire regiment. He was awarded the British Victory and British War medals.
After the war Harry and Minnie had several children:
- Harry Cumberlidge born 1920
- Neville & Samuel Cumberlidge, twins born and died in 1922
- George Cumberlidge born 1924 and who possibly died in 1925
- Graham Cumberlidge born in 1928
Harry died in 1965 and his wife Minnie died in 1978.
