Hubert Cumberbatch was born in Fenton, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, England on 25 February 1897. He was the son of Elisha Cumberbatch and his wife Sarah nee Willey.
Between 18 November 1915 and 27 July 1917 he served in the army as Private 241590 5th Battalion Kings Own Royal Lancashire Regiment.
Hubert died in Blackpool, Lancashire in 1956.
