Orlando Colin Cumberbatch

Orlando Colin Cumberbatch was born in Silverdale, Staffordshire in 1888. He was the youngest son of Enos Cumberbatch and his wife Rachel nee Platt. He was a labourer at the Bank Colliery in 1911. He married Louisa Hawthorne in 1917.
Orlando joined the 1/6 North Staffordshire Regiment initially as Private 4980 and after a transfer he became  Private 241769 in the 5th Battalion North Staffordshire Regiment. He married Louisa Hawthorn in 1917.

Orlando died at the 4th Northern General Hospital, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England on 9 Mar 1918. He was buried at Silverdale Cemetery in plot CE Grave 1543, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire.
