Harold John Cumberpatch Stoker 1st Class joined the Royal Navy in 1917. He progressed to Stoker 1st Class and was discharged on 1 October 1919 on demobilisation.

Harold John Cumberpatch was born on 23 July 1899 in East Ham in London, England. He was the son of William Brown Cumberpatch and his wife Annie Florence nee Salmon.

Harold was a clerk when he joined the Royal Navy on 11 December 1917 for the duration of the war. He became a Stoker 2nd Class K47930 in the Royal Navy. He progressed to Stoker 1st Class and was discharged on demobilisation on 1 October 1919.

Harold married Dorothy Emily Aldritt in 1925. By 1939 he was a cellarman for a wine merchant. Harold died on 3 April 1975 and he left an estate valued at £524. Harold’s wife Dorothy died in 1970.
