Arthur Prowse Cumberpatch aged 15 years he joined the Royal Navy as a Boy. He progressed to become Able Seaman 238966 and was discharged on 8 June 1921.
Arthur Prowse Cumberpatch was born on 9 June 1891 in Horfield, Bristol in Gloucester, England. He was the youngest son of Edward Arthur Cumberpatch and his wife Amy Myrtle nee Prowse. On 31 May 1907 and at the age of 15 years old Arthur joined the Royal Navy as a Boy. He progressed steadily to become Able Seaman 238966 and was discharged on 8 June 1921.
Arthur married Nellie Louisa Stock in 1918 and hey had two children:
- Olive P Cumberpatch, born 1920
- Sheila N Cumberpatch, born 1928
Arthur died on 4 Marc 1975 and left an estate worth £10,500. His wife died in 1990.
